We’ve decided to set up a joint blog detailing our experiences in this captivating and alluring destination.
Our names are Menna and Joel, two 21 year old Brits. We met at the age of 18 whilst in our first year at Swansea University, and have been together for almost three years. At the age of 20, with graduation and the end of education nearing, we had to decide the next chapter in our lives.
Naturally, a career in law – our degree of choice during University – was a logical option. However, we both shared a dream of exploring, and making the most of our youth.
To fulfill our exploratory bug, teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) seemed to be the perfect decision. Not only was it moderately cheap, but it was a certification that we could complete alongside our degrees, without hindering the latter too much. We were both incredibly passionate about working with younger children, as well as interacting with new people and immersing ourselves in an intriguing culture. Based on this, China was our preferred choice.
Fast forward to the present, six months after we arrived in Xiangyang – a third tier city in central China – we’ve decided to set up a joint blog detailing our experiences in this captivating and alluring destination.
Not only can we share our mixed encounters and opinions on living in China, but we have also had the amazing opportunity to travel to some of the most exquisite locations of this prodigious country.
We hope you take pleasure in reading about our travels, checking out our recommended itineraries, and viewing some of the many diverse photographs we have taken.
